Lion Trams Preparing for First Ever International InnoTrans Exhibition
On 18-21 September 2018 in Berlin, Germany, a line of Russian-made trams will be presented for the first time in the international arena within the framework of the largest exhibition of railway transport InnoTrans 2018.
The first presentation of the new machine-building production PC Transport Systems has already taken place. Recently, the Nevsky Electric Transport Plant presented a shortened version of the three-section tram named ‘Lion’. The head of the pride lands will be presented already in Europe.
According to the president of the company PC Transport Systems Feliks Vinokur: “Three dozen international companies are involved in the creation of a single-section fully low-floor car. At the same time, the tram is 90% made up of components produced in Russia.
“The combination of experience and innovation has allowed to build a tram, serial analogues of which are not available today, not only in Russia but also in the world.
“Moscow, St Petersburg, and other cities, including European ones, have already shown interest in the new car.”
The interior for this car was developed and produced by the company Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Components in close cooperation with one of the leaders in industrial and automotive design company Italdesign of Moncalieri, Italy.

PC TS (Production Company Transport Systems) is a leader in the development and implementation of innovations in urban electric transport. The company serially produces low-floor rolling stock. Within 5 years, specialists of the company have developed 7 models of tram cars.
Today, almost 250 units are effectively operated in St Petersburg, Moscow (for three years, the PC TS should put 300 trams Vityaz-M in the capital and almost 200 cars have already been transferred to the customer), Tver, Krasnodar and Rostov. The Lion family, presented in 2018 in St Petersburg, will expand the product line of the Russian company and open foreign markets.
